Helen reigns at the CDG Awards
The nominees for the 9th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards are out. Why do you care? Well, if you are and/or wanna be a costume designer, you care big time. If you love fashion, you should also care. If you love films, you gotta care. And if you're curious about who will be nominated and/or win the Oscar for costume design, these nominations are a pretty good indicator.
The CDG awards gala, sponsored by Swarovski, will take place on Saturday, February 17 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. This year's gala will be hosted by Jane Kaczmarek. Sandra Bullock will receive the SWAROVSKI President's Award. "The Queen" Helen Mirren will receive the Distinguished Actor Award. Helen Mirren, the beautiful; thank you for all your good work!
Shouldn't "The Queen" be in the period film category rather than contemporary as it describes a particular era?
