Submit Your Sci Fi Comic-Con Questions
Misfits Tamara and Andy will be in attendance at Comic-Con, and the great folks at Sci Fi have invited us to their SCI FI VIP Digital Press Weekend. Personally, I like to refer to it as the Weekend of Awesome. Even more awesome? We want you to give us questions to be asked at the various panel events. Check out the lineup:
- Stargate Atlantis: Joe Flanigan, Robert Picardo, Brad Wright, Jewel Staite, Chris Sanaugustin
- Ghost Hunters: Robb Demarest
- Sanctuary: Amanda Tapping, Martin Wood, Robin Dunne
- Battlestar Galactica: Tricia Helfer, James Callis, Katee Sackhoff, Michael Trucco, Ron Moore, David Eick
- Eureka: Colin Ferguson, Sallie Richardson-Whitfield, Joe Morton, Jamie Paglia, Charlie Craig, Tony Optican
If you're like me, you're drooling right now (and not just at the thought of meeting Jewel Staite). Post your questions in the comments, with specific reference to show and (if you want) talent. We'll pick the best, and Sci Fi will provide video of those questions being asked, which of course we'll share here.
Plus, If you'll actually be at Comic-Con this year, let us know in the comments, wouldja?
Could you ask Brad Wright if everyone was/is satisfied with the performance of the SG-1 movies?
If so when are we likely to see a third outing and what will the plot be?
When will we learn if Atlantis will get a 6th season?
Is Stargate:Universe on hold until Atlantis has completed it's run?
Are we still going to get any BSG movies? Will they be set before, after or during the current season?
When is Caprica likely to make it on the air?
Why do we have to wait till next year for the end of season 4?
Who's stupid idea was it?
Eureka questions:
Will Carter has a new girlfriend?
Will S.A.R.A.H. want go out on a date? And how? Holography?
A question for Amanda Tapping from Sanctuary.
In your role as Executive Producer on Sanctuary what tasks have you enjoyed doing and what tasks haven't you liked?
RoX | Jul 11, 2008 3:36:25 PM | #For any or all of the cast from STARGATE ATLANTIS... what has been your weirdest fan experience to date? And, what is your favorite part of attending Comic Con, and if you weren't promoting the series, would you actually like to just attend to peruse the aisles? Thx!
Elyse | Jul 11, 2008 5:07:31 PM | #A question for Amanda Tapping from Sanctuary
Did you enjoy your experience directing an episode of the new production while Martin was away in Banff and do you plan on doing some more directing in the near future?
Kylie | Jul 12, 2008 1:26:39 AM | #Two questions for the Sanctuary guys if I may:
The fans came to expect a certain level of interaction with the production company during the production of the web series. Do you plan to take steps to try and continue this interaction at some level now that the show is being produced for television?
For Robin - Did you write any of the episodes that are currently in production?
Trinity | Jul 12, 2008 1:37:29 AM | #What is KINGS and why are they having a screening? Who knows anything about it?
I do know the director, Francis Lawrence, is the director of I AM LEGEND and I'm excited to find out about KINGS!
francine | Jul 13, 2008 10:37:26 AM | #A question for Amanda about Sanctuary...do you feel that the contract for 13 episodes is enough to push the series forward? How can the fans help push for more of a committment from the network?
Karen | Jul 13, 2008 7:28:53 PM | #For Brad Wright:
If there is a third movie, will we see more of the Tok'ra? Could perhaps - somehow - Martouf/Lantash return?
About Atlantis: like for the movie - will a Tok'ra character be added to the series?
Joan | Jul 14, 2008 9:39:33 AM | #Brad Wright: SG-1 movies/SGA
Is there a possibility of Tok'ra returning in either later movies or perhaps being added to the Atlantis-crew?
Will we see Martouf/Lantash, Jacob/Selmak, and/or other 'famous Tok'ra' again? Perhaps as visitors from a parallel universe? Or somehow brought back to life?
Is there a possibility of an episode showing the Tok'ra getting a queen again? They deserve and need one! Perhaps a hidden daughter of Egeria could be found?
Will we still get SG-1 movies if SG: Universe goes ahead?
Roeskva | Jul 14, 2008 10:51:44 AM | #
Will we get to see the Tok'ra in Atlantis (or the new upcoming series, for that matter)? I know they made a token appearance in the movie, but it doesn't tell us much about what's been happening with them.
Andrea | Jul 15, 2008 7:36:40 AM | #SG-1 movies/SGA/Brad Wright: Will we get more of the 'classical SG-1' movies? With the Goa'uld and the Tok'ra? Going through the 'gate instead of flying around in ships?
Will we see more AU's/time travel in future SGA episodes? I love those!
Elisabeth | Jul 15, 2008 10:59:34 AM | #Stargate Atlantis/Brad Wright - Are there any plans to have Elizabeth Weir come back (either as good Weir or bad Weir)? We miss her!
Mariana | Jul 15, 2008 1:36:08 PM | #Can you ask the BSG people just what the hell is going on? About the pacing of Season 4 and how they plan to tie everything up next year in 12-13 episodes...
Doubt they'll answer that one, though, lol.
Also, "Heroes" doesn't have a panel there? Their show is the one I'm most excited for and I had alot of questions for them :(
Sean | Jul 16, 2008 11:51:56 AM | #For the Stargate people (especially Mr. Wright I guess): will we get a third SG-1 movie? Will it feature Ba'al again? Also, I would like to see more of the Tok'ra!
Pia | Jul 16, 2008 12:31:25 PM | #For the Atlantis people: why don't you bring back Torri Higginson as Dr. Elizabeth Weir? She's greatly missed.
Paul | Jul 16, 2008 8:30:11 PM | #For Jewel Staite, How does she feel about the backlash she and her character have gotten for being Beckett's 'replacement'? does she feel that the fans have given her a fair time?
Denise | Jul 18, 2008 11:38:55 AM | #Sanctuary creators...
Since the episodes will be longer than the webisodes, have you thought of how to better flesh out the characters? Are we going to see a little more of how Ashley grew up? I'd like to know how Helen handled a little 10 year old Ashley. :-)
And for the tech side... how much harder is it to act in front of the green screen? Or are the extra elements going to be filmed on location (or with sets)?
Thank you in advance for allowing us this opportunity to ask these questions.
Angela | Jul 19, 2008 4:14:27 PM | #I will be at Comic-Con working as a volunteer in the Pro/Industry Registration section from Thursday Night until Sunday.
Angela... who is a StarGate/Sanctuary Fan... And Xena fan, too...
Angela | Jul 19, 2008 4:18:17 PM | #For Amanda and the Sanctuary team... This may not make sense but when writing a creature or other beings for an episode...do you plan to create new ones or focus on beings from mythology and other legends? Do you have people who strictly do the research for the historical aspects? (such as the Morrigan?)Or is that something the writer's do as part of the um..writing.
Thanks
Karla
I forgot to mention I will not be at Comic-con
karla | Jul 20, 2008 9:10:20 AM | #Thanks for all the questions. We've passed them on to Sci Fi. Feel free to let me know, though, whether you've got anything else Tamara and I can ask if given the chance, or if you'll be there and want to meet us in person.
Andy | Jul 20, 2008 9:31:05 AM | #Questions for Amanda Tapping (Sanctuary):
(1) How is the artist in you responding to working full-time with a new character?
(2) What aspect of Helen Magnus’ character are you most proud? Ingrigued?
(3) If Sam Carter and Helen Magnus were to have a conversation about something concerning them both, what do you imagine they would discuss?
(4) What would you say to die-hard Stargate fans who have not yet made the transition from seeing you as Sam Carter in order to encourage them to be open to giving Sanctuary and Helen Magnus a try?
Bina | Jul 20, 2008 12:11:15 PM | #For Sanctuary:
Will you be including the original webisodes on the series release? Can you make sure we get bloopers and deleted scenes? :)
For Atlantis:
I've always been curious why Jessica Steen didn't continue in the role of Weir. If Torri isn't available, perhaps Weir could return in the form of Jessica. It's sci-fi, it could happen.
Sanctuary:
Will access to the webisodes return (for those who paid for them and never downloaded but just watched them online)?
(Tongue firmly in cheek)Will the Abominable Snowman ever appear?
Do you feel the same kind of online support that Stargate SG-1 had even before the series came out?
Robin Dunne: What was it like for you to come in to this series, e.g., what were some of the challenges of doing the webisodes vs. other work you've done and are any of those made easier since going to the regular television series format? Do you feel some of your genre films uniquely prepared you for the role, or did you ignore Teen Vampires and start fresh for Will?
For Stargate Atlantis:
Robert Picardo: I read today online that you challenged Trek fans to give you three episodes to draw them in to the Stargate franchise. What about the show (besides all the pretty people) do you think will appeal to Trek fans who haven't already discovered the series?
Joe Flanigan: Have you asked the writers if they'll put Shep on a skateboard like they put RDA riding a bike through the SGC?
For EUReKA:
Do you try to make things plausible given current scientific knowledge, or do you just sit around and say, "Wouldn't it be cool if there was this thing that did THAT?" (i.e., do the writers have heavy science backgrounds or just great imaginations - probably both, I know)
Just for fun...Colin, what's YOUR IQ?
BSG:
Why do YOU think so many say this show is the best thing on television - what sets it apart? Besides the genre, how is it better than, say, E.R. or CSI or Law & Order.
