From the very first scene it's perfectly clear that J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" is not messing around. It's on a mission to rock your world. Let the notice be served: "Trek" is what all the Summer flicks will have to measure up to.

Like the turning leaves, as one cycle of television ends, so must another begin. New shows will debut, some favorites will take a final bow, and sadly some won't be returning. As we keep our anticipation in check, remember that the following dates and times can be changed at the slightest whim so remember to check your local listings. So on with the show and Happy New Year!

As 2008 comes to an end, we have some great stuff to look forward to next year. Before some favorites return with new seasons (like Kyle XY and Reaper), continue on where they left off (like Battlestar Galactica), or even debut (Dollhouse!!!), let's take a moment to reflect on Fall TV and how some of the Misfit-friendly shows Ryan didn't cover fared.

Well, fellow Misfits, we're heading into that glorious time of the television schedule: Fall sweeps! Sure, given the fragmented nature of television viewing, this period means a little less that it used to, but nonetheless shows strive to pull out all the stops in order to maximize their most important asset: creativity. And by "creativity" I mean "advertising revenue."
Milo Ventimiglia is getting into the comics biz. While all you real life Comic Book Guys may feel the urge to scoff, I advise to hold your proverbial horses because Milo is legit. He's as big a comic buff as you or I (perhaps even moreso). I got to meet with Milo at his DiVide Productions office and talk to him about his book Rest from Devil's Due, comics in general, and yes, a little about Heroes too.

Here is the next set of 2008 Scream Awards interviews for the red carpet. I was fortunate enough to talk to Julie Benz (Dexter, Saw V, Angel & Buffy), Doug Jones (the Hellboy films, Pan's Labyrinth, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer), and Jared Padalecki (Supernatural, Friday the 13th). Behold their glory!

My first batch of interviews from the 2008 Scream Awards Red Carpet features John Hensley (Teeth, Nip/Tuck), Y: The Last Man co-creators Brian K. Vaughn and Pia Guerra, Repo! The Genetic Opera director Darren Lynn Bousman and star Alexa Vega, and comic legend/director Frank Miller (The Spirit, Sin City, 300). Enjoy!

Did you miss the 2008 Scream Awards? Were you missing someone to make snarky comments with? Are you just burning with curiosity to know what I was thinking when I was watching? Well fear not my friends, for I have recorded and recapped the whole show for posterity.

The now annual anti-establishment Scream Awards, brought to you by your friends at SpikeTV, premieres tonight at 9pmEST (with a re-airing immediately following) and it's worth checking out (or at least DVR-ing).

I know you. You're sitting there wondering what you want to be this Halloween, yet you can't spend a lot of money and don't have awesome sewing skills. Never fear, fellow Misfits. While Ryan's already given the guys some guidance, I'm here to give the ladies out there some options on how to work it out on the cheap this 31st while keeping your nerd cred.

We Misfits love Halloween. It's up there with Darwin, Festivus, and System Administrator Appreciation Day. Like you, we spend days, weeks, and in the case of at least one redheaded member of our posse, months planning our outfits each year. But like you, we're feeling the effects of the recent credit crunch on our wallets. No longer can we spend money dressing up like Big Daddy from the videogame Bioshock. Sure, it's fun spending lots of time and money while simultaneously damaging our daughter psychologically for the rest of her life. In past years, we'd be all over that. But this year, cuts need to be made.
Yes, I'm running late on these but that still won't stop me from talking about the return of two of my favorite shows. And Smallville. It was a mixed bag in general but Supernatural absolutely did not disappoint while Heroes showed promise. And then there's Smallville...
