Joshuajackson_fringe_240 Well, fellow Misfits, we're heading into that glorious time of the television schedule: Fall sweeps! Sure, given the fragmented nature of television viewing, this period means a little less that it used to, but nonetheless shows strive to pull out all the stops in order to maximize their most important asset: creativity. And by "creativity" I mean "advertising revenue."

Miloventimigliarest Milo Ventimiglia is getting into the comics biz. While all you real life Comic Book Guys may feel the urge to scoff, I advise to hold your proverbial horses because Milo is legit. He's as big a comic buff as you or I (perhaps even moreso). I got to meet with Milo at his DiVide Productions office and talk to him about his book Rest from Devil's Due, comics in general, and yes, a little about Heroes too. Continue reading »

Juliebenz2008screamawards Here is the next set of 2008 Scream Awards interviews for the red carpet. I was fortunate enough to talk to Julie Benz (Dexter, Saw V, Angel & Buffy), Doug Jones (the Hellboy films, Pan's Labyrinth, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer), and Jared Padalecki (Supernatural, Friday the 13th). Behold their glory! Continue reading »

Are you just burning with curiosity to know what I was thinking when I was watching? Well fear not my friends, for I have recorded and recapped the whole show for posterity. Continue reading »

Ginatorresfireflyserenity I know you. You're sitting there wondering what you want to be this Halloween, yet you can't spend a lot of money and don't have awesome sewing skills. Never fear, fellow Misfits. While Ryan's already given the guys some guidance, I'm here to give the ladies out there some options on how to work it out on the cheap this  31st while keeping your nerd cred. Continue reading »

Zodheadca3 We Misfits love Halloween. It's up there with Darwin, Festivus, and System Administrator Appreciation Day. Like you, we spend days, weeks, and in the case of at least one redheaded member of our posse, months planning our outfits each year. But like you, we're feeling the effects of the recent credit crunch on our wallets. No longer can we spend money dressing up like Big Daddy from the videogame Bioshock. Sure, it's fun spending lots of time and money while simultaneously damaging our daughter psychologically for the rest of her life. In past years, we'd be all over that. But this year, cuts need to be made.

Kristenbellheroes Yes, I'm running late on these but that still won't stop me from talking about the return of two of my favorite shows. And Smallville. It was a mixed bag in general but Supernatural absolutely did not disappoint while Heroes showed promise. And then there's Smallville... Continue reading »

Heroclixdailyplanet My fellow Misfits, this is a time of change. A time for banding together and voicing your opinions. An opportunity to affect the future. So I ask you to take a moment and let us know what you think about us and how we've been doing. Because we care about our people. Behold, our first Misfits Survey! Continue reading »

Sanctuarycast Fringe , True Blood, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Smallville and Supernatural have all already premiered (we'll get into those later) and Heroes jumps off tonight. That's a whole lot of shows but there's even more ahead of us. TV is being very good to us this season so I wanted to make sure you guys knew when the remaining nuggets of hopefully nerdy glory will premiere. Because I'm just as confused as you are. Annatorv_fringe_240_002 The introduction of Fringe into the television landscape brings to the forefront one of the Misfits' favorite tropes: the conspiracy! That's right, that age-old, Rockwell-esque sensation that just below the surface of everyday life lurks something vast and sinister. In Fringe, it's something called "The Pattern," started in the 1970s in a Harvard laboratory and extending from here all the way to Dawson's Creek.

Starwarsforceunleashed_starkiller With the hopefully, seemingly epic video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed coming out soon, I've been thinking a little bit about how I'd be if I had those powers. Saying that I'm a goody-two-shoes is a bit of an exaggeration but I'm definitely not evil. I can't even go the "bad guy" route in video games without feeling a twinge of guilt. That being said, I do know that there are some selfish and self-serving ways I'd end up using The Force. And here's how... Continue reading »

Summerglau_terminator_240_2 Even though a couple premieres have already aired, we still want to take a look back at TV's recent past. We've heard from one Misfits but now it's my turn to share some of my favorite (and least favorite) bits from this past season. And I've added some extra categories for your reading pleasure. Wo0t. Douglashenshall_primeval_240Primeval star Douglas Henshall doesn't have a lot of action-hero work on his resume. As he puts it, "I kind of tended to be on Channel 4 at 10 o'clock at night" in some serious drama or other.

Batsymbol_240 The Dark Knight has grossed an insane $400 million in a short amount of time, and rightly so. It's the rare perfect storm that seems to allude most comic properties - great actors, a great script and a great director. But Christian Bale isn't the only great Batman...heck, he's not even the greatest in my opinion. Curious about who is? Read on and see if you agree with me... Continue reading »

Natalieportman_starwars_240 Well, cadets, we're already in the final month of summer. Scary, I know. Some of you have undoubtedly gone away on vacation of some sort since Memorial Day. Others, like myself, well...not so much. But it's a pretty safe bet that you're not on vacation now because, well, you're reading this! Yes, I suppose there's a slim possibility that you're reading this poolside in Aruba, but honestly, don't own up to it if that's the case.
