Kit Harington keeps trying to spoil 'Game of Thrones' for Richard Madden
Don't try to talk to Kit Harington about spoilers. After taking on "Game of Thrones" as his first Hollywood project, it's no wonder that he's averse to giving anything away about both the show and everything else he has coming up.. Even when it comes to talking about projects like his new film "Pompeii" or the upcoming fantasy flick "Seventh Son," mums the word.
That's why it's so hilarious that he continually tries to spoil "Game of Thrones" for his former cast member and current best bud Richard Madden. After Madden's Robb Stark got killed off in Season 3, the former King of the North hasn't read any more in the books and wants to go into Season 4 unspoiled. Well, not if Harington has anything to say about it.
"I spend a lot of time with Kit still, and he's like, 'Oh my god, in episode 3, there's a -- ' and I'm like, 'Don't. Tell me. Anything,'" Madden told Zap2it at TCA 2014 winter press tour. "Now, for the first time ever, I can watch it and not know what's happened."
When Zap2it spoke with Harington while he was promoting "Pompeii" and shared Madden's anecdote, he just started laughing. "I love Richard," he admits.
Of the spoilers, Harington says, "I like to spring it on him. Or just tell him lies." Just how often has it happened? "Oh, loads. Loads. He's very good at spotting it, though."
The concept of these "Game of Thrones" lies is very intriguing, but Harington isn't one to spoil even his funniest moments. "I won't tell it," he says when asked for his best lie.
"Pompeii" premieres on Feb. 21. "Game of Thrones" Season 4 premieres on April 6 on HBO at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
