Stephen Amell: 'Arrow' star's pushups and baby talk on 'Live with Kelly and Michael'
Stephen Amell's visit to "Live with Kelly and Michael" on Tuesday (Jan. 21) was just plain fun. The "Arrow" star engaged in a pushup contest with the hosts, talked about staying in shape and discussed his baby girl's name.
What's not to love?
Amell chatted about his daughter, Mavi (which is actually short for "Maverick") and his workout routine -- which he says is motivated by long hours on the set, fear of eating poorly and "manipulating my own body weight." That quickly brought up the idea of a pushup competition. Amell was game, so he got down on the floor with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan.
After one minute of pushup insanity, what was the score? Interestingly, Ripa claimed the victory with 37 pushups to the 36 done by both men. Was it fixed? Or is Ripa that in-shape? Both seem possible.
The interview ended with an "Arrow" clip and a brief discussion of the show. Amell didn't have any spoilers, but he did offer a powerful visual to explain the central plot of the show: "I manipulate my body weight all over Starling City."
"Arrow" airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
