Natalie Dormer finds 'Hunger Games: Mockingjay' shaved head 'liberating'
Natalie Dormer revealed a pretty dramatic new look while walking the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet. While "Game of Thrones" fans are used to Margaery Tyrell's brunette locks, the actress showed that her "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" hairstyle is going to be a half-shaved head that's channeling a Skrillex vibe.
This is the most dramatic haircut that Dormer has debuted in recent memory. She tells People on the SAG Awards carpet that she was a bit uncertain about the hairstyle, which she is sporting for her "Hunger Games" character of Cressida.
"I was a little bit nervous [about shaving it], because as women for some weird reason we have a lot of our identity bound up in our hair," Dormer admits. "But just to get rid of it was liberating."
Dormer makes her "Hunger Games" debut in "Mockingjay Part 1," which is due in theaters on Nov. 21. Meanwhile, she'll reprise her role as Margaery in "Game of Thrones" Season 4, which premieres April 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO. She will not, however, be returning to CBS' "Elementary" any more this season.
