David Letterman turns Julia Roberts into living 'Rose Parade float', she does Miss America wave
Julia Roberts got a special surprise during an appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman." The actress was on the show to promote her movie "August: Osage County," but Dave rarely keeps things on topic.
The two were talking about their kids when the subject of birthdays came up. Julia let the audience know that for the last 15 years, Dave has sent her a bouquet of flowers for her special day. Well, every year except this one. It seems Dave missed sending them out this time around.
When Roberts asks him not to fire his secretary for forgetting to send them, Dave simply says, "Alright bring in the flowers." Cue one of Letterman's stage hands who delivers a huge bouquet to Julia, as Dave wishes her a happy belated birthday. "I feel like Miss America," Roberts says while holding the flowers.
If only it ended there. Before her segment is complete, Dave has several more giant bouquets delivered to her, until Julia is practically buried. Dave's birthday streak remains intact.
