Jerry Ferrara recalls getting punched by Robert De Niro on 'Arsenio Hall Show'
There are few people on Earth who might be scarier to take a punch from than the "Raging Bull" himself, Robert De Niro. Just ask "Entourage" alum Jerry Ferrara -- he knows firsthand.
During an appearance on "The Arsenio Hall Show" on Friday (Nov. 8) to promote "Last Vegas," which he co-starred in with De Niro, Ferrara talked what it was like to be on the receiving end of a stunt punch from the legend.
"It's a stunt punch, but it was really kinda crazy in rehearsal, like, he comes up to me, 'I'm gonna hit you like this,'" he said while gesturing. "'Be careful when you fall, your shoes are tied. Don't hit the camera, watch your head.' Like, basically, he's protecting me. And then he's like, 'And then I'm gonna knock you out.'"
While the stunt punch likely resulted in no harm, Ferrera wasn't as lucky while promoting the film. " When I saw him in Vegas doing some press, he punched me in the liver. He gave me a liver shot," he revealed, adding, "A good one, like, 'Oh Jake Lamotta can still punch.'"
"Just to let you know he loved you," Hall joked.
