'Agents of SHIELD's' Cobie Smulders confirms 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' role
Agent Maria Hill will continue to weave her way through the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cobie Smulders confirms that her "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" character will appear in the upcoming "The Avengers: Age of Ultron."
"I think I'm in 'Avengers 2, but it is very top secret," Smulders tells the Calgary Herald. "I hope I'm in 'Avengers 2.' I didn't get my invitation yet. Well, actually, they know I'm in it but they don't know to what degree I'm in it."
Thus far Smulders has appeared in "The Avengers" and the pilot episode of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD." She's also slated to have a role in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." Though the size of her role in that movie is unclear, Smulders did confirm to Zap2it that "[Maria Hill] will say words" in the new "Captain America" film.
Smulders tell the Calgary Herald that she's especially excited to read the "Age of Ultron" script because of the new characters being introduced. "I am really excited to read the script because they are introducing Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch into the Avengers universe and the bad guy is going to be very interesting," she admits.
"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" is due in theaters on May 1, 2015. "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" airs Tuesdays on ABC at 8 p.m.
