'X-Men: Days of Future Past' trailer: 'Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage causes trouble in two realities
It's Hugh Jackman's Wolverine to the rescue in the full-length trailer to "X-Men: Days of Future Past." The actor, who has already appeared in "X-Men: First Class," provides the link between the future and the past in the upcoming superhero movie.
But he's not the only big connection between the two alternate realities. Beyond the fact that both the young and old versions of the "X-Men" characters will be in this movie, new villain Bolivar Trask provides a threat in the future that needs to be defeated back in the 1960s "First Class" world.
"Game of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage plays Trask and, though he only has one quick scene in the trailer, he has a big presence in the movie. Trask is responsible for creating the Sentinels, which are robots who hunt mutants. That's enough to create a pretty dystopian future, so it's up to young Charles Xavier, Magneto, Mystique and Wolverine to stop him before he gets his war against the X-Men started..
Dinklage isn't the only big TV name making his premiere in this trailer. "American Horror Story's" Evan Peters makes his debut as Quicksilver, while "True Blood's" Anna Paquin reprises her role as Rogue.
Still, the coolest part of this trailer is seeing James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart come face to face as old Professor X begs his younger self to help their future. "X-Men: Days of Future Past" is due in theaters on May 23, 2014.
