'It's Always Sunny's' Rob McElhenney went to emergency room in blackface
As if ending up in the emergency room wasn't enough to occupy your mind, what do you do when you look across the waiting room and see a man wearing blackface paint? That was an issue that came up when "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" star Kaitlin Olson injured herself on the set and was taken to the hospital, along with husband and co-star Rob McElhenney. She talked about the funny moment during an appearance on "Conan."
While they were filming the upcoming "Lethal Weapon 6" episode of the show, McElhenney was painted brown and wearing a mustache, portraying the role played by Danny Glover in movies. Olson, who was shooting a scene with him, seriously injured her leg and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
Olson couldn't figure out why everyone in the hospital was staring at her and Rob until she turned around and really looked at him for the first time, realizing he was still wearing his makeup. "Yeah, so it was the blackface people were glaring at," she says. How do you explain that one?
