'Doctor Who's' Karen Gillan wants 'Guardians' vs. 'Avengers' crossover
"NTSF:SD:SUV" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Karen Gillan is excited by the idea of a Marvel crossover with "The Avengers."
The former "Doctor Who" ginger is now bald for her role as evil alien villain Nebula in "Guardians," currently filming in London. A Total Film reporter asked Gillan about the possibility of the "Avengers" team meeting up with the "Guardians" in the future.
"That sounds really cool," Gillan says. "Not something I've heard anything about though. But that would be amazing. Yeah, I'd be open to that."
As for which of the Avengers Gillan would be most excited to meet, she definitely has a favorite: Iron Man. "I just love the tone of the 'Iron Man' films," she says. "You can really see Robert Downey, Jr.'s influence on those films." She praises RDJ as being "really funny."
"Guardians of the Galaxy" is expected in theaters Aug. 1, 2014. "The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron," which will see Downey return to his "Iron Man" role is planned for May 2015.
