Miley Cyrus: 'Hannah Montana' image prevented me from being my bad self
Kiss the days of Miley Cyrus being the sweet girl from "Hannah Montana" goodbye. After the series went off the air in 2011, Cyrus has done her best to separate herself from her Disney Channel image, and now she's saying she's fully let go of her former self.
"I just needed to let go of the past in a way, so I felt like I could be the bad b**** I am," Cyrus says in "Miley: The Movement."
Cyrus also continues to compare herself and her controversial MTV Video Music Awards performance to the likes of what's been done by Britney Spears and Madonna. They're both the bad girls of pop, and she clearly wants to be ranked up there with them.
"You can watch that performance and think that's a hot mess. But it's a strategic hot mess. ... If I wanted a raunchy sex show, I wouldn't have been dressed as a damned bear," Cyrus says of the VMAs. "How many times have you seen this play out in pop? Madonna's done it. Britney's done it."
