'Insidious 3' is a go after big opening for 'Insidious: Chapter 2'
Well, that sure didn't take long. After "Insidious: Chapter 2" opened at the top of the weekend box office, it was a foregone conclusion there would be another. It has been announced that writer and star Leigh Whannell will return once again to pen the third movie, Deadline reports.
Director James Wan wasn't mentioned in the announcement as returning, but that doesn't necessarily mean he won't. However, he's also preparing to direct "Fast & Furious 7," so it's not like he's got a bunch of free time at the moment.
They also didn't confirm any returning cast members. The second in the series crushed all the competition in its way with a $41.1 million weekend. The next biggest movie was "The Family," which brought in a much smaller $14.5 million.
