Airplane carrying 'Salinger' documentary team crash lands
A small airplane carrying several people associated with the "Salinger" documentary crash landed in Telluride, Col. Sunday (September 1), as they were headed to the Telluride Film Festival to present the movie.
The crash happened when, on landing, the plane's left main landing gear collapsed, the FAA tells THR. They say there were 12 on board, with no injuries. A witness says the airport has closed, while the plans remains on the landing strip.
Among those on board were Emmy Chang, a publicity executive for The Weinstein Co. and David Shields, co-author of the book 'Salinger." It's unknown who else was on the plane. The documentary was a late addition to the film festival, with a special sneak peek screening scheduled for Monday.
