Kurt Angle, Olympian and TNA wrestler, arrested for DWI
Professional wrestler and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Texas Friday (August 2), marking his fourth booze-related arrest in the last six years, TMZ reports. Following the arrest, Angle, who works for TNA Wrestling, announced on Twitter that he will be heading to rehab to deal with the problem.
"I am blessed to have the support of my family, my friends and my company. In light of recent events I will immediately be entering a rehabilitation center," he writes. Dixie Carter, president of TNA, also addressed the situation on Twitter, adding, "The TNA Family is very supportive of the steps @RealKurtAngle is taking in his recovery."
Previously Angle was arrested in 2007 for DUI, and twice in 2011. Once for DWI and the other time for being drunk behind the wheel of a parked car. He won the gold medal in heavyweight freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Olympics.
