Justin Guarini not living in poverty, but is going to Broadway
When former "American Idol" finalist Justin Guarini posted a very revealing entry on his blog, it led some to think he was in severe financial trouble. That's not exactly the case, though.
The quote from the post that gained the most attention reads, "I have spent days skipping meals in order to make sure I have enough. To make sure my children, and my wife have enough." Immediately reports popped up that Guarini couldn't afford to feed himself, which the performer was quick to correct. "News isn't news anymore, and I'm nowhere near poverty," he tweets. In fact, Guarini also writes on the blog that he now operates on a budget and tries to be financially conscious. That's the life many performers live with, as sometimes work becomes scarce.
While Justin may not have reached the heights of his fellow finalist Kelly Clarkson, he's not doing too bad for himself. In addition to his previous work on Broadway, in "American Idiot" and "Women on the Verge of a Breakdown," he's slated to take on the role of Paris in the new production of "Romeo and Juliet" starring Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad.
More than that, he writes in the blog about something else in his life that keeps him going. "I have a wife whom I love and who loves me (me!) and who lifts me up," he says. "Children who give me cherubic-lippped kisses before I leave for work and who are the most delicious morsels of joy and peace and prosperity."
It sounds like things are going quite alright for Justin.
