Chris Brown quitting music due to infamy over Rihanna beating
Chris Brown might be ready to give up music for good. The 24-year-old musician has had a troubled life in the spotlight, most infamously when he was charged with felony assault for beating then-girlfriend Rihanna. Though that incident occurred in 2009, Brown never seemed to be able to move past it and it seems that's driven him to want to get out of Hollywood.
"Don't worry mainstream America. After this X album, it'll probably be my last album," Brown tweets. "Being famous is amazing when it's for ur music and talent. I'm tired of being famous for a mistake I made when i was 18. I'm cool & over it!"
This comes after Brown turned himself into jail for his hit-and-run case. Brown was supposed to submit himself by Aug. 6, so he actually did it a day ahead of schedule. According to TMZ, Brown went to the Van Nuys, Calif. jail around 2 p.m. on Aug. 5 and was booked and released within 45 minutes. His next court date is Aug. 15, and he also has to appear at a probation violation hearing stemming from his Rihanna incident.
