Sophia Loren to star in son Edoardo Ponti's film 'La voce umana (The Human Voice)'
Iconic Italian actress Sophia Loren is headed back to the big screen for her first starring role in over a decade. What prompted this major move? Familial love.
The 78-year-old legend is going to star in her 40-year-old son Edoardo Ponti's film, "La voce umana (The Human Voice)," according to THR.
Directed by Ponti, the movie is based on a one-person play written by French poet/writer Jean Cocteau. The French story will be adapted into Italian and set in Rome, Naples, and Ostia.
"La voce umana" will not be the first time Ponti has directed his mother. She also starred in his 2002 drama "Cuori estrani (Between Strangers)," which was his feature film debut.
