One Direction: We're not divas, no concert rider for us
One Direction is hamming it up on the cover of Teen Vogue's September issue, and the mag gives us a preview of what they talk about inside the pages. Here's a hint: It's mostly about them being just regular guys.
The boy banders were at a concert stop in Miami when they spoke to Teen Vogue, and Niall Horan was surprised by the number of fans who tried to mob him and his bandmate Harry Styles as they soaked up sunburns poolside. "I don't see how you could get used to people screaming in your face," Niall says. "And anyone who says different is lying."
Zayn Malik takes that moment to acknowledge that the boys are actually grateful to their screaming fans. "We're humbled that so many fans have bothered," he explains, while also admitting he personally skipped the pool because he doesn't know how to swim.
The part where the boys of 1D become more endearing than ever is when Teen Vogue follows them to catering and Liam Payne reveals One Direction won't be found on those lists of stars who require no brown M&Ms or only white candles backstage (cough -- Beyonce, Mariah Carey -- cough). "We haven't actually got a rider," Liam says. "We're not really that diva." As for why they don't have something that seems pretty standard for your everyday pop star, Liam explains, "We never actually sat there and made one. They bring us the stuff they think we like."
And this is just one of the reasons we like you, One Direction. 1D's issue of Teen Vogue hits newsstands Aug. 6.
