Michael Phelps not ruling out Olympic return for 2016 Rio Games
Retirement may mean something completely different to Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps than most others. After deciding the 2012 Summer Olympics, which brought him six medals and the title of most successful Olympian ever, would be his last, Phelps now seems a little unsure of whether or not he'll be back.
Phelps is in Barcelona for the world swimming championships and spoke with the Associated Press Monday (July 29), about a possible return to the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro. "I don't know what's going to happen in the future" he says, "I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow." How's that for a non-answer?
Were Phelps to make it to the Olympics once again, he would be competing at 31 years old. He' will also have to start training again. The swimmer is currently recovering from an injury to his tow, after jamming it into his couch at home. He later aggravated the injury during a game of golf. The retired life sounds vicious.
