James Franco courts Jon Hamm for 'The Sound and the Fury'
Hollywood's reigning Renaissance Man is reportedly moving forward with his "The Sound and the Fury" film adaptation and is looking to cast Hamm in a major role. While Franco will direct and star in the film version of William Faulkner's 1929 novel, the Los Angeles Times reports that he is courting the "Mad Men" star to play the family's patriarch, Mr. Compson.
Barring any scheduling conflicts, Hamm could join already cast Dave Franco and "This Is the End" costar Danny McBride.
Franco wrote the script for the film with his friend Matt Rager, a fellow Yale student. The story focuses on a wealthy family in the South in the early 20th century that falls into some bad luck.
