Frank Ocean cancels Australian tour due to vocal cord tear
Australian Frank Ocean fans were sad to learn the singer was forced to cancel his sold out tour in the country, but he definitely has a solid reason. The tour's promoter has announced that suffered an injury during his first stop in Melbourne, Billboard reports.
"After last night's concert ... it was necessary to seek medical advice due to vocal issues Frank Ocean experienced during the show," the promoter says in a statement, "It has subsequently been confirmed that Frank has suffered a small tear to one of his vocal cords and has received medical advice that he must rest his voice."
The tour consisted of three more dates, including another in Melbourne. According to reports, Ocean's voice was off-key during the first concert and he told the audience at one point "I'm sick ... I don't know if you care."
There has been no announcement on any rescheduling of the performances once Ocean has healed.
