WWE's CM Punk gets a restraining order against his mom
WWE wrestler and former World Champion CM Punk has successfully obtained a restraining order against his own mother. Punk, real name Phillip Brooks, filed for the restraining order after what he claims were "repeated financial demands and years of abusive, harassing and threatening behavior."
TMZ obtained the documents that were filed, in which Brooks says he's given his mother more than $100,000, but eventually cut her off. According to the wrestler, she then sent him a string of harsh emails, including one that reads, "You don't give a s*** about us. You just care about your money and money hungry/fame hungry friends. You would sell us for a nickel."
Brooks also says his mother has threatened to share information about her son's past, which may be embarrassing. He suggests that it could be connected to arrests from his high school days. He further claims she told him she would commit suicide on at least four different occasions in 2012.
"I wish for the harassment to stop and am requesting the assistance of the court in this regards," he says in the documents.
Brooks has been open in the past about the relationship he has with his family. In the 2012 documentary "CM Punk: Best in the World," Brooks says he and his family are not close and haven't been in a long time. He specifically notes an incident where his brother stole money from him, adding that the two haven't spoken in 12 years.
