Taco Bell employee fired after taco shell-licking photos
Well, that sure didn't take long. One day after a photo appeared online of a Taco Bell employee licking a stack of taco shells, the company has announced the individual has been suspended and they are in the process of terminating his employment.
In a statement on Taco Bell's website, the company explains that the shells were not served to customers, but were part of a training session before a new product was launched in March. The photo was actually part of an internal contest which urged employees to submit photos of themselves enjoying their first bite of the new product, though the company says this entry is in clear violation of the guidelines and is unacceptable.
The photo made its way around the internet Monday (June 3), after a Facebook user posted it to Taco Bell's profile along with a complaint. While the franchise owner of that specific Taco Bell is in the process of terminating the employee in the photo, the company notes that the person taking the picture no longer works there.
