'Fifty Shades of Grey' cast: Who is rumored for Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele?
Well, "Fifty Shares of Grey" is definitely being made into a movie. It's got a release date and a director, Sam Taylor-Johnson. However, there's no cast for the movie.
Regardless of whether you like it or not, "Fifty Shades" is likely to become a pretty huge franchise, so choosing the right cast is important. Whoever winds up playing each of the roles is going to be attached to them for quite a while.
Even with no announcements made, the internet is definitely not short on rumors of who will take on the lead characters. For Christian Grey, fans of the series seem to think it's going to be Ian Somerhalder ("The Vampire Diaries"), Henry Cavill ("Man of Steel") or Matt Bomer ("White Collar").
Don't count Robert Pattinson out yet, though. Especially after the series' author E.L. James was spotted at the "Twilight" star's birthday party. It would be a bit poetic, in the strangest possible way, since "Fifty Shades" began as a fan-fiction series based on "Twilight."
One person who definitely won't be appearing is "The Lone Ranger" star Armie Hammer, who called the series "mommy porn" in a Playboy interview and says he shot down his agent when they tried to bring it up as a possibility.
What of the female lead, Anastasia Steele? Several actresses have been said to be close to getting the part. Felicity Jones ("Like Crazy"), Alexis Bledel ("Gilmore Girls") and Emilia Clarke ("Game of Thrones") are the three getting the most traction. Alicia Vikander ("A Royal Affair") is another name that's been floated as a possibility.
Don't get your hopes up for Emma Watson, though. The "Bling Ring" star has repeatedly denied she'll be appearing in the movies, so that's a thought that won't be coming to life. Likewise, Mila Kunis has also said she won't be in the movie.
What about you? Who would you like to see take on the roles of Christian and Anastasia? Sound off below.
