Cheerios ad with racist backlash gets a parody response from comedian
Two weeks ago, a Cheerios commercial featuring an interracial family had to have its YouTube comment section shut down after it sparked racist, hate-filled backlash. Now comedian and filmmaker Kenji America has made a parody ad just for all the haters.
Above, the little girl asks her mom, "Is it true that eating a healthy breakfast cereal like we do every morning is normal and in the year 2013, the way our family looks shouldn't be such a big deal?"
"Well, it says here that Cheerios is heart-healthy. And I say that we have the God-given right to stuff our faces with whatever we want and with whomever we want, no matter what the haters say," says the little girl's mom.
And twist! It's an interracial family ... with two mommies.
"Denise! Disable the YouTube comments!"
Eat it, haters.
