'Candy Crush' fake movie trailer mocks most-downloaded mobile game
"Candy Crush Saga" is currently the most-downloaded mobile game, so there's likely some producer in Hollywood currently trying to plot a way for it to follow in the footsteps of "Angry Birds" and make its way to the big screen. In lieu of that, YouTuber Nigahiga created a hilarious fake trailer for a film called "Candy Crush: The Movie" about addiction to popular mobile games.
Though the fake film is called "Candy Crush," it also features references to "Angry Birds," "Fruit Ninja," "Draw Something" and a surprise fan-favorite franchise at the end. The "Tron"-like premise mocks the addictive nature of these popular mobile games. According to the video's many commenters, this premise might actually translate to a good movie. After all, it worked for Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel when they were able to grow "Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse" into "This Is The End."
Though fake, "Candy Crush: The Movie" has garnered close to 2.2 million views at press time. It remains to be seen if Nigahiga responds to fan requests to make this into a feature film.
