Box office: 'Man of Steel' soars to $113M, crushes competition
Well, "Man of Steel" sure is super. The comic book adaptation rocketed to $113 million in its first weekend, nearly six times the amount the number two movie made. Reviews from the movie haven't been as powerful but that didn't stop people from turning up to movie theaters in droves.
Landing at the number two spot is "This Is the End," grossing $20.5 million, which brings its total to $32.8 million in five days. The R-rated comedy may not be making "Man of Steel" money, but it has already made its budget back.
No other new movies in the Top 10 this week, though the magical "Now You See Me" holds steady at number three, grossing another $10.3 million. So far, it's up to $80 million.
