Barack Obama sings Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky'
"Get Lucky," the new single from Daft Punk (featuring Pharrell), seems to be everywhere. And if a song is everywhere, then it follows that United States President Barack Obama would be singing it too.
Thanks to a whole lot of editing genius, that's exactly what Obama does in the latest YouTube meme to make Obama sing.
Of course, this isn't just a video of Obama breaking into dance-music song. Instead, the makers of the Daft Punk parody -- the aptly named YouTube user baracksdubs -- have taken snippets from various Presidential speeches from over the years. The words, when put together, approximate "Get Lucky" beautifully.
It's not just the lyrics that make this video worth a viewing. A fair amount of footage seen in the compilation has nothing to do with the Daft Punk song specifically. Instead, these images make the video just a little more fun. For example, the "Obama combing his hair" bit at 0:15 and the edit-created head bop at 0:28 are impressive.
Barack Obama's speeches have been used to create music videos in the past. One of the best is the Obama version of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe." Check it out below.
