Lindsay Lohan talks rehab, taking ecstasy and the first time she drank
Before checking in for her court-ordered rehab stay, Lindsay Lohan sat down for a lengthy interview with Piers Morgan to talk about the trouble she's facing, as well as her past. In the interview, Lohan clears up what she thinks are misconceptions about her drug use and drinking.
Lindsay reveals the first time she drank was at 17 years old, but says she hated it and stayed away from booze until she relocated from New York to Los Angeles. As for her drug use, she says reports of her cocaine use are blown out of proportion. "I don't like it," she says, "It reminds me of my dad. I took it four times in a period from about the age of 20 to 23, and I got caught twice." She also says she's never used heroin, LSD and never taken drugs via injection. "Those things all scare me."
As for drugs she has tried, Lindsay admits to using marijuana and ecstasy, saying she likes the latter more than most drugs. She excuses the drug use, comparing it to young adults experimenting in college. However, Lohan says she should have known it would make headlines as "someone was bound to say something or try to make some money off it."
Lindsay also maintains she's "never been a huge drinker." However, she thinks rehab will be a good thing, because it will give her time to be by herself. "I think people want to see me do that. They will keep saying the same things about me if I don't," she says, "I don't think it will be a bad thing for me to be away with myself for three months."
Even still, Lindsay doesn't sound like a fan of the court ordering her stay. "Constantly sending me to rehab is pointless," Lohan explains, "The first few times I was court-ordered to rehab it was like a joke, like killing time."
Lindsay says she last used drugs, "some pot," a year ago. However, she does have an Adderall prescription for severe ADD and takes small doses of a tranquilizer called Trazodone if she's been traveling and losing sleep over jet lag.
In the interview, Lindsay also takes aim at her father, Michael Lohan, saying he "creates chaos for me and uses it to his advantage." She claims he never physically abused her, but she recalls him throwing a TV remote at her brother's head. She also talks about Michael's cocaine use and the strain it put on her family.
