Gisele Bundchen shuns makeup and Photoshop for BLK DNM ad campaign
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen is the star of a new advertising campaign for denim brand BLK DNM. This particular campaign is a bit different from what's normally seen in the fashion world. Gisele is photographed with no makeup or professional hair styling, and there were no Photoshop touch ups done to the pictures.
Gisele credits the photographer, Johan Lindeberg, with the idea to go totally natural. "I came in and I met him and I said 'this, guy he's a very real, nice person. I want to do something with him,'" Gisele tells Fashionista, "And then he said okay we have two hours, let's just do it now-no hair, no makeup and really real."
It's a big change for Gisele, though she appreciates the change. "I loved his approach because I feel like women should be really real and raw and it doesn't really happen anymore [in fashion photographs]," she says, "I love that feeling of, you know, we are women, we are so different, our imperfections are what make us unique and beautiful."
Perhaps this will lead to a decrease in Photoshop work done to nearly every photo that makes it to print in advertising and magazines.
