Amanda Bynes claims bong was 'just a vase,' gets new court date
Well that was a bit anticlimactic. Amanda Bynes has been released from court with no bail after her reported bong-throwing incident. The reason for her release? She said the drug paraphernalia wasn't actually a bong.
According to TMZ, Bynes told the judge that she object she threw out of her apartment window was "just a vase" -- though why she would do that is yet to be revealed. Bynes was given a new July court date and the promise of an arrest warrant if she misses it.
In the criminal complaint filed against Bynes, the officer who reported to the scene to arrest the troubled actress wrote, "I observed [Bynes] grab said bong, run to the westbound-facing window, and throw it out the window where numerous pedestrians were walking on the 8 Avenue and West 47 Street sidewalks below."
Bynes was spotted leaving the New York City court on her own and heading home in a taxi. At press time, she had not taken to Twitter to tweet about the incident. It will be interesting to see what comes out of Bynes' July court date -- and see if she gets any help between now and then.
