Halle Berry thought her pregnancy was kidney stones when she went to the doctor
When Halle Berry confirmed that she was pregnant with her second child, the first with fiance Olivier Martinez, it was a joyous announcement. The "X-Men: Days of Future Past" star was surprised when she found out she was with child, though. In a new interview with HELLO! magazine (via MSN), the actress says she went to the doctor for something else entirely.
"I was at the doctor's when they told me and I was completely shocked," she says, "I didn't see it coming. I went to the doctor because I thought I had kidney stones or something." At 46 years old, Barry wasn't sure she could still have children. "Olivier and I have always wanted to be parents," she tells the magazine, "But I didn't want to get my hopes up."
Berry calls her pregnancy a miracle, as "this child was as wished for as it was expected." Halle and Olivier weren't the only ones with hopes for a new baby, her five-year-old daughter Nahla wanted a sibling. "She's really happy. Not long ago she asked God for a little sister," she says.
Berry is currently working on the next installment in the "X-Men" franchise. Recently, a photo was posted online of her in costume as Storm.
