'Paul Bearer' dies - Was blood clot to blame for William Moody's death?
Days before former WWE "manager" William "Paul Bearer" Moody died, TMZ reports he confided in a friend that he was suffering from a blood clot. "Cowboy" Bob Kelly, a board member of the Cauliflower Alley Club, a society of professional wrestlers, reportedly spoke with Moody Saturday, at a reunion.
Kelly says Moody appeared in bad health, and had a serious breathing problem. People attending the event say Moody, who also used the stage name "Percy Pringle III," had trouble standing for long periods of time. According to Kelly, Moody went to the hospital following the event.
Moody passed away Tuesday evening, triggering an outpouring of support, from both fans and wrestlers. WWE's top superstar John Cena sent out a tweet, summing up the wrestling community's reaction best, saying, "I think most everyone in WWE has a great story about Paul Bearer. I have many, and will always cherish them." Moody was 58 years old.
