Morrissey cancels US show after being hospitalized with pneumonia - report
Less than two months after postponing shows due to health issues, singer Morrissey has reportedly been hospitalized with pneumonia in both of his lungs, according to the Daily Mail. The singer was forced to cancel his concert in San Francisco, Cal., Saturday, but is hopeful he'll be ready to go in time for a March 14 performance in Mexico.
According to a statement on a Morrisey fan site, the canceled San Francisco concert is now scheduled for May 1, while the former front man for The Smiths receives treatment. Morrissey was last hospitalized in January, while touring through Michigan.
The singer recently made headlines for his Los Angeles, Cal. show when he announced concessions at his Staples Center concert would be 100% vegetarian, including making sure the McDonald's outlets in the arena were closed. "I don't look upon it as a victory for me, but a victory for the animals, he said. Shortly after that announcement, Morrissey canceled his appearance on late night talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live," noting he could not morally appear on the same program as the stars of "Duck Dynasty."
