'Modern Family' stars get trapped in an elevator for an hour

"Modern Family" stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Julie Bowen got an unexpected surprise when they headed to a Boys & Girls Clubs charity event in Kansas City. They took a ride in the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel elevator, it ended up getting stuck just short of the third floor. The result? They were trapped in it for over an hour. Ferguson posted frequent updates from inside the elevator along with photos. When the trio was finally released, he wrote, "Finally made it out of the stuck elevator at the one hour mark. At least the firemen in K.C. are cute."
Bowen also tweeted from her WhoSay account, writing, "After a quick hour trapped in the service elevator, we were rescued by Duke and the Fire dept."
Kansas City firemen ended up getting everyone out with ladders at around 10 p.m. They got to the Boys & Girls Clubs fundraiser an hour later, and praised the Kansas City Fire Department when they took the stage.
