Lady Gaga gets 24-karat gold wheelchair to help recover from hip surgery
Honestly, you didn't expect Lady Gaga to use a regular old wheelchair, right? The "Born This Way" had surgery on her hip in late February, after being forced to cancel a bunch of concerts due to a labral tear.
She hid the injury at first, before losing the ability to walk after a concert. Now, post-surgery, Gaga is on the mend, and she's doing it in style. The New York Post reports Gaga commissioned a luxury wheelchair from designer Ken Borochov. The finished product is a wheelchair, plated in 24-karat gold, with a removable leather canopy to block out the sun.
It seems the chair will also fully recline, in case Gaga needs to lay down. It's the first wheelchair for Borochev, who has designed pieces for Kanye West and Nicki Minaj in the past. He says he was "thrilled to create what I affectionately dubbed the Chariot, a chair fit only for a queen."
Take a look at the chair below, in a picture from Tumblr, and let us know what you think. Is it perfectly Gaga, or just a silly waste of money?
