Katherine Jackson's civil lawsuit over Michael Jackson's doctor finally going to trial
At long last, Katherine Jackson will be taking her civil lawsuit against AEG Live to trial. The concert promoter was responsible for hiring doctor Conrad Murray to care for Michael Jackson prior to the King of Pop's death. Murray, of course, was later convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
Superior Court Judge Yvette Palazuelos dismissed all but one claim in Katherine's lawsuit. The mother of Jackson will go to trial to prove that AEG negligently hired and supervised Murray while he cared for her son. Palazuelos dismissed Katherine's claims that said AEG could be held liable for Murray's actions and that AEG breached its duty to care for Jackson.
The trial is scheduled to begin on April 2, the Associated Press reports. Jackson died on June 25, 2009.
