Facebook: New look coming for News Feed

Facebook is promising a "new look" for its News Feed. The company has announced that it is going to reveal a revamped form of the popular feature at a media event on March 7.

This is the first time the News Feed has been majorly updated since September 2011. Many speculate that Facebook will reveal an updated mobile version of the News Feed as well. TechCrunch has reported that Facebook is testing a mobile News Feed that is image-based instead of the current blue-and-white design.

"We want to make News Feed richer," Mark Zuckerberg told financial analysts in January. He says that by allowing Facebook users to post more photos, videos and GIFs, the company will be able to help its advertisers as well.

As with all major Facebook changes, expect everyone in your News Feed to start complaining regardless of how well-received the new format is farther down the road.
