Britney Spears gives money to homeless man

The celebrity good deed of the week goes to Britney Spears, who, according to Showbiz Spy, was seen helping out a homeless man in Los Angeles.

Reportedly, the singer was passing by a Hollywood-area drug store when a homeless man cried out to her, "Please help me ... I'm at the end of my rope!" So Spears promptly walked over to a nearby ATM, withdrew $100 and gave it to the man.

The man was apparently so touched and thrilled that he grabbed the singer in a giant bear hug, causing her to shriek in surprise. Her shriek brought the drugstore's security guard running over, taking the money from the man and trying to make him leave.

But Spears reportedly insisted that she gave the man the money and that it was his.
