Bobby Brown released after serving 9 hours in jail

bobby-brown-released-jail.jpgBobby Brown was required to turn himself in Wednesday (March 20) to begin serving a 55-day jail sentence in his DUI case. At the time, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said Brown was not expected to serve more than nine days, due to time already served and jail overcrowding.

Nine days? Try nine hours.

TMZ is reporting that Brown arrived at the jail at 10 a.m. local time Wednesday evening and was released at 7 p.m. The jails must really be packed in Los Angeles County.

Brown was arrested in October, pleading no contest to DUI and driving on a suspended license. It was his second arrest for DUI in 2012, the first coming in March. It was Brown's third overall DUI, though the first one was back in 1996.

The New Edition member, and ex of the late singer Whitney Houston, must now serve four years probation and attend alcohol education classes for the next 18 months.
