Bart Simpson appears in court before judge named Mr. Burns
Bart Simpson is finally facing the music in court, sort of. A man is standing trial in the United Kingdom, on charges of bringing a firearm to the Birmingham airport in May 2012. The man, 56-year-old Barton Simpson, is from Eccleshall, England, SWNS reports.
In a weird twist, the judge presiding over the case is named Mr. Burns. That's about where the similarities end, as his full name is Recorder Burns. Of course, Montgomery Burns is the billionaire that runs the nuclear power plant on "The Simpsons."
A source with the court notes, "It's a bizarre coincidence that Bart Simpson is actually on trial in front of Mr. Burns, but it'll proceed as any other criminal case would." Simpson has plead not guilty to the charge.
