Giuliana Rancic knows it's largely the stars' night at the Oscars, but she clearly doesn't mind adding a little shine to it herself.

For the E! Entertainment Television red carpet staple, that means bringing a new hairstyle to her co-hosting Sunday (Feb. 24). Rancic is debuting a new shoulder-length look, and there's little question she timed it to the movie industry's biggest night.

By her own admission, the breast-cancer survivor -- who also will co-host the Eva Longoria-produced NBC dating show "Ready for Love" with husband Bill Rancic starting Sunday, March 31 -- had mulled "chopping" her locks for a while, and the 85th Academy Awards proved the perfect incentive for her to finally make the move.

Within moments of the main portion of E!'s "Live From the Red Carpet" pre-show beginning, fellow host (and producer) Ryan Seacrest commented on Rancic's new coiffure. To which she promptly and rather logically replied, "What better day than Oscar day?"
