Michael Brown tweet on Superdome offensive to Hurricane Katrina survivors

Let it never be said it's too soon to joke about Hurricane Katrina. If the former director of FEMA can make jokes, anyone can. Michael Brown, who many blamed for the terrible mishandling of the Hurricane Katrina disaster, used his platform on Twitter to make a little joke about the now-infamous Super Bowl blackout, Sunday.

Someone just told me there was fighting going on in the NOLA Superdome. #shocked

Of course, when the guy who was in charge of FEMA during Hurricane Katrina makes a joke about it, the world groans. In his tweet, Brown says, "Someone just told me there was fighting going on in the NOLA Superdome," before hashtagging it "#shocked." Strong words from a man whose department failed to deliver needed supplies to hundreds of Katrina victims stranded inside the Superdome.

Brown now hosts a radio talk show in Colorado, and resurfaced in the press last October when Denver Westword asked about preparations for Hurricane Sandy before the storm hit. He believed New York City's actions were premature. According to Brown, "My guess is, [President Barack Obama] wants to get ahead of it - he doesn't want anybody to accuse him of not being on top of it or not paying attention or playing politics in the middle of it," adding, "He probably figured Sunday was a good day to do a press conference."

Or perhaps he was concerned about the impending hurricane. It could really be either one.
