'Melrose Place' actress Amy Locane sentenced to 3 years in prison in drunk driving case
In June 2010, actress Amy Locane-Bovenizer was involved in a drunk driving accident, where she hit a car as it was turning into a driveway and killed 60-year-old Helene Seeman in Montgomery Township, N.J. At the time, the actress' blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit. Now the former "Melrose Place" and "Cry-Baby" star has been sentenced to three years in prison, reports the AP.
Upon hearing the sentencing, the victim's husband, Fred Seeman, exclaimed, "What a travesty!" and stormed out of the courtroom with his son.
Locane-BOvenizer had faced up to 10 years in prison after a jury convicted her of vehicular homicide in November. But the judge lowered the maximum sentence, citing the hardship on the actress' two children, one of which has a medical and mental disability.
