Girl Scout cookies truck and app make finding Thin Mints easier than ever
Good luck avoiding the calories Girl Scout cookies bring you this year. The organization is making it even easier to get a hold of your favorite flavor of cookie. Friday, February 8, is National Girl Scout Cookie Day, which kicks off a three month season of sales. The country will be knee-deep in Thin Mints and Samoas all Spring. If you're feeling adventurous you could even try out the new flavor, Mango Cremes with Nutrifusion, which seem to be a way to trick yourself into thinking you're being healthy.
In the past you had a few options to get your fix. Door to door sales were one way, you could also hope a friend had a kid in the Scouts, or maybe they would be set up in front of a grocery store. However, in 2013, technology has finally caught up to the Girl Scouts. An app has been released for iPhone and Android phones, that will locate cookie sales near you. Locations can also be searched for on the Girl Scout Cookies official website.
Another fun move by the group is the addition of a Cookie Day Truck. Food trucks are all the rage these days, and the Girl Scouts are giving it a try. For now, the only Cookie Day Truck is in New York City, driving around town selling cookies on Friday. They'll be tweeting locations as the day goes by.
There really is no hope to avoid the treats this year, but do you really want to?
