Daniel Radcliffe to play Igor in 'Frankenstein' update
Who better to play creepy hunchback assistant Igor in a new take on "Frankenstein" than -- Daniel Radcliffe? The "Harry Potter" star is said to be near a deal for the role, according to Variety. The "Frankenstein" feature film in the works at 20th Century Fox will be directed by Paul McGuigan (BBC's "Sherlock") and written by Max Landis ("Chronicle"), inspired by Mary Shelley's classic novel.
Radcliffe would be the first actor cast in the project, which is expected to shoot in the fall and said to focus on the twisted friendship between Igor and his "master," Dr. Victor Frankenstein.
Radcliffe will next be seen on the big screen in the racy indie "Kill Your Darlings," which recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. He also co-stars with Jon Hamm in the British miniseries "A Young Doctor's Notebook."
