For the first time since 1995, Conan O'Brien will host the White House Correspondents Dinner. The news was announced by Fox News' Ed Henry over Twitter.

"Thrilled to reveal @ConanObrien has agreed to headline White House Correspondents Association's scholarship dinner April 27 @TeamCoco," Henry tweeted. "@ConanObrien was terrific at '95 correspondents dinner w/Clinton -- excited about @TeamCoco return engagement April 27 @andyrichter."

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are both expected to attend the event. In the past, fellow late night stars like Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, Jay Leno and Seth Meyers have hosted the dinner. The White House Correspondents Dinner does a bit more than just allow people like O'Brien to crack jokes and politicians and political reporters' expenses, as it also raises scholarship money for young journalists.
